Wash standard woven covers in the washing machine using a permanent press setting or a regular cycle with cold water. Dry covers in the dryer on medium heat. Avoid high heat.
The rug pad can be spot treated with a household disinfectant that does not contain bleach. To thoroughly clean, saturate the rug pad in warm soapy water, rinse with clean water, and hang to dry.
What is it made of?
Woven covers are 100% polyester (the top of the cover is made of woven polyester chenille style yarn and the bottom is a polyester knit). The two layers of fabric are bonded together with a nontoxic glue also made of 100% polyester. This makes it possible to recycle the cover because it is all made of the same synthetic material.
Another interesting note about polyester is that the fiber does not absorb liquid. Yes, liquid will be absorbed in between the fibers but not within the fiber. This is why stains and odors wash out so easily.
The rug pad is made of polyester (95% recycled fiber). The Cling Effect™ texture is created by heating the surface (think Crème Brûlée dessert). The nonslip backing is made of Thermoplastic Resin (TPR) a latex-free synthetic material that is commonly used in yoga mats.
How does it work?
Ruggable uses patented Cling Effect™ Technology to keep the cover attached to the rug pad. The underside of the cover grips to the top surface of the rug pad (think about how Velcro® works to keep materials together). You can hold a Ruggable upside down and shake it and the cover will not come off. You have to manually pull it off when it's time to wash it. The strength of the Cling Effect™ does not wear off over time. Even after several washings, the cover will grip to the rug pad just like it did the first time.
